Studio tour with CCES fourth grade
Earlier this spring, I had the chance to meet with the fourth graders of my high school alma mater, Christ Church Episcopal School. Joined by fellow artist and alumna, Dorothy Shain, we spoke with the students about how CCES impacted and inspired our art journey.
Dorothy shared some of her projects and how she utilizes so many different forms of media including a new project where she will paint a barn in Texas.
I shared my studio space inside Greenville Center for Creative Arts (GCCA) and spoke about how my love of nature greatly influences my artwork. I also showed the students the various stages of one of my paintings from drawing through completion.
The fourth graders were so respectful and interested…we were both blown away by their interest and thought provoking questions!

An award-winning collaboration
My art world and my printing worlds came together at the Printing Industry of the Carolinas (PICA) annual Awards Banquet in April. The Martin Printing team and I were thrilled to accept the Best of Division award for Missing Pieces, a book of 3D art created by my GCCA studio neighbor and friend Eli Warren. This masterpiece depicts Greenville landmarks as Legos and is available at M. Judson Booksellers. Many thanks to Canon USA for their sponsorship and to my amazing client and friend, Eli for his creativity!
